Typical Properties

Features and Benefits of PTFE Cast Films

  • Minimizing defects: Multi-layer construction to reduce voids/pinhole defects.
  • Temperature resistant: Heat resistant properties enable continuous service temperatures up to 500°F (260°C) release capability across different substrates.
  • Conformable into irregular shapes making them ideal mold release films, even at elevated temperatures.
  • Outstanding, almost universal chemical resistance
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Extremely tight tolerances
  • Custom colors available

Common Applications

Static control in various manufacturing
Anti-static conductive provides a protective, insulating, and non-stick layer that helps manage and dissipate static electricity while offering durability and resistance to various environmental factors. Used in a wide range of industries, including electronics manufacturing, cleanroom environments, and places where static control is essential for safety and product quality.
Vacuum bagging
Non-stick properties, heat and chemical resistance, and flexibility make them essential for creating a controlled and efficient environment for consolidating and curing composite materials, resulting in quality finished products. Crucial for easy removal of vacuum bag once curing complete.
When used as vacuum bagging films, they excel due to performance at ultra-high temperatures (315°C / 600°F) and are highly comfortable (with 550% elongation).
Manufacturing processes (Mold release)
By providing non-stick, low friction surface that promotes easy release of molded parts.
Heat weldable
PTFE Cast Films promotes smooth and consistent welding processes. Their use leads to improved weld quality, reduced equipment maintenance, and enhanced safety, making them a valuable tool in various welding operations throughout industry.

Rigorous testing standards
Versiv develops custom application testing based on each of our partner’s product uses in order to create the best possible solution. Some tests that are included but are not limited to environmental, durability, and reliability testing to give you peace of mind making sure that products work in the harshest environments. Our testing begins during the co-development process to develop relevant tests and gather data that allows us to create market-ready solutions quickly.
Some of our tests:
  • FTMS 191A-5041

  • FTMS 191A-5030

  • FTMS 191A-5102

  • FTMS 191A-5136

  • ASTM D149-81
