How Versiv PTFE Films Protect Pharmaceutical Formulations
Versiv high-performance PTFE films are bonded to pharmaceutical rubber vial stoppers, cap liners and syringe plungers, creating a protective barrier between the drug formulation and the underlying closure material.
Their chemical inertness helps minimize unwanted drug–closure interactions and the risk of contamination, supporting drug purity, stability and shelf life.

Versiv specialty PTFE films are uniquely bondable to a range of sealing substrates, including butyl rubber and other elastomers. Their excellent conformability allows them to adapt to complex geometries, supporting consistent film coverage and reducing manufacturing defects.
High thermal stability and non-stick properties make these films suitable for closures exposed to demanding processes, including lyophilization (freeze-drying) and heat sterilization, helping prevent sticking during processing.
In cap liner applications, Versiv films provide a chemically resistant barrier that prevents direct contact between the contents and the underlying sealing material, while minimizing unwanted adhesion.
